Losing a pet is like losing a family member. Whenever it happens, it can be hard for pet owners to choose what to do with their pet’s body and how to choose to memorialize them.

For residents in the Ferndale, NY area, Companion Memorial Cremation serves our clients with dedication and compassion during this difficult time. Here's what you need to know about pet cremation.

There are different ways to memorialize your pet

Do you plan on choosing cremation for your pet but are not sure how to do it? There are multiple ways to memorialize your cat or dog once you say goodbye. Companion Memorial Cremation offers a collection of pet urns and boxes manufactured from high-quality materials, such as oak, dark oak, cherry, walnut, and variants of metal. Our designs are the result of much time and dedication spent designing and hand making each urn, ensuring your pet’s final resting place is unique.

Some pet owners choose to bury their pet’s ashes. There are certain designated pet cemeteries to choose from depending on your location. We know this is a difficult time for you and your family. We’ll help you choose what works best for your situation.

You can watch the cremation of your dog or cat

You may have the opportunity to view your pet with a private cremation. At Companion Memorial Cremation, your pet will be placed in the cremation chamber individually while you view your pet in our private viewing parlor.

Only your pet is cremated at a private cremation. They are placed in the cremation chamber alone, which ensures that the remains you receive are those of your pet and no one else's. We offer a pre-need plan for our private cremation services.

More than one pet can be cremated at a time

While a private and individual cremation only involves your pet alone, you can save money with a group cremation. We know you may be going through some challenges, but our group cremations ensure your pet gets the proper memorialization they deserve, at a reduced cost on your end. In this process, your pet will be placed in the cremation chamber along with the bodies of other pets. Together, they will all be cremated and then taken to a private property to be re-scattered in a private memorial garden. You may request a certificate of cremation to be provided.

Pet cremations are done with specifically designed equipment

Pet crematoriums are specially built for cremations. The chamber fits multiple pets at a time and can heat up to anywhere from 1400 to 1800 degrees Fahrenheit. We are a state-certified, licensed crematory that uses state-of-the-art equipment to meet the needs of pet owners. We are equipped to handle any cat or dog, no matter the weight. Our facilities are always clean and welcoming for our guests to part ways with their pet.

Most cremation services will transport your pet for you

Companion Memorial Cremation can pick up your deceased pet from the vet office or your residence if needed. We are available to do this Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm for Catskill area residences requiring this service.
