You’ve taken care of your four-legged friend in the best possible way when they were alive. Well, you can continue to do the same for them even after they’re gone.
Here’s a look at the best pet cremation services in the Catskills, NY area.
Choosing to cremate your pet allows you to take them back home with you to rest, or to have their ashes scattered at their favorite place.
Pet cremation is also a much more affordable option than burial. If you choose to bury your pet, you must find a local pet cemetery, pay for their disposal method and grave, and pick out their burial plot and casket. These costs can quickly add up. With cremation, on the other hand, you’ll only pay for any transfer fees, your pet’s urn, and the cremation itself.
Finally, pet cremation is a relatively simple process, and one that your vet can handle by themselves if you prefer.
The process starts once we pick up your pet from your home or from a local hospital.
On the day of their cremation, your pet is placed in a cremation unit that is then heated to about 1,825° Fahrenheit. Depending on the size of your pet, cremations can take between 2.5 to 4 hours.
Once the cremation is complete, your pet’s remains are removed and broken down. The ashes are then placed in an urn or scattered at a local memorial garden, depending on the crematorium package you choose.
The final cost of your pet’s cremation is determined by their weight; you can find more information on the cost breakdown on our Pricing page.
As the name implies, several animals are cremated together in the affordable Group package. However, because they are cremated all together in the same unit, it becomes difficult to identify the remains of each pet afterward. Because of this, you won’t be able to take your pet’s ashes. However, we gather your pet’s ashes and scatter them at a private memorial garden for you.
In the Individual package, several animals are cremated together but are separated by partitions. This keeps the remains of each animal more or less separated, and you can take the ashes home with you afterwards. Once the process is over, you receive your pet’s remains as well as a certificate of cremation. Although it’s more economical than a private viewing, there is also a slight chance of ashes from different pets mixing during the cremation process.
When you choose the Private Viewing package, your pet will be cremated by themselves. You can also watch the cremation as well, a decision that helps many pet owners with the grieving process. Afterwards, you receive a cremation certificate as well as your pet’s ashes in an urn. This option gives you the most privacy, and as a result, is our highest-priced package.
